The placement of an acoustic pod can make a big difference to how well it performs. In spaces with high ceilings and large windows, positioning pods near a wall helps reduce echo.

It's also important to leave enough space around the pod for proper airflow, and adding soft furnishings or plants nearby can further improve acoustics.

If you're unsure where to place your pod, feel free to get in touch—our team will be happy to help you find the best spot.

FAQs

A solo office pod is a soundproof acoustic enclosure designed for one person to take private calls, focused work sessions, or video meetings in an open-plan office. The Quell Office Pod Solo has an internal floor area of 0.76 m² (84 cm wide × 90 cm deep) and stands 214 cm tall internally. It is accredited to ISO 23351-1 — the European standard for office acoustic enclosures — and constructed from aviation-grade aluminium with high-performance PET acoustic panels.

A phone booth is typically optimised for very short calls (under 15 minutes), often standing. The Quell Office Pod Solo is a true work pod — sized for sit-down focused sessions of 30 minutes to several hours. It ships with an integrated device shelf and counter stool, Bluetooth speaker connectivity, dedicated power outlets, and is built to ISO 23351-1 acoustic specification. The 214 cm internal height accommodates tall users comfortably.

The Quell Office Pod Solo is accredited to ISO 23351-1, the European standard governing speech-level reduction in office acoustic enclosures. The pod uses aviation-grade aluminium construction with toughened glass (the same grade used in high-speed train carriages) and internal PET sound-acoustic panels to block external office noise. Conversations inside remain confidential, with clear audio quality for phone and video calls.

The Quell Office Pod Solo includes a single-motor turbo fan ventilation system delivering continuous fresh-air exchange through ceiling intakes. The system is engineered for comfortable use during extended solo work sessions. An integrated motion sensor activates lighting and ventilation when the pod is occupied, conserving energy when empty.

Each Quell Office Pod Solo ships with aviation-grade aluminium framework, train-grade toughened glass door, internal PET acoustic panels, integrated daylight LED lighting (non-directional, designed for laptop work and video calls), motion-activated occupancy sensor, single-motor turbo fan ventilation, Bluetooth-connected speaker, a device shelf, counter stool, and a multi-point power inlet supporting 220-240 V UK/European sockets, USB, and USB-C ports.

External dimensions: 230 cm high × 100 cm wide × 93.6 cm deep. Internal usable space: 214 cm high × 84 cm wide × 90 cm deep, giving 0.76 m² of internal floor area. Pod-only weight is 275 kg; including furniture (device shelf and counter stool) the total is 299 kg. The footprint is designed to fit through standard office doorways.

The Quell Office Pod Solo assembles in approximately 45 minutes once unpacked, using included instructions and step-by-step video guidance. SoundBox Store also offers professional installation services across the UK, Europe, the USA, UAE, and Switzerland for buyers who prefer a fully-installed delivery on-site.

The Quell Office Pod Solo ships with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. The pod's electrical components are certified to CE (Europe) and UL (USA) standards. As movable office furniture with a five-year warranty, the Quell Solo is typically classified as a depreciating fixed asset for tax purposes, making it eligible for write-down over its useful life.

SoundBox Store delivers and installs the Quell Office Pod Solo across the UK, Europe, the USA, UAE, and Switzerland. The pod ships with the correct local mains plug for each destination, with full CE and UL electrical certification included as standard. Professional on-site assembly is available across all supplied regions.
